Rios

THE FLAME HAS BEEN IGNITED

Gr.1 Producer already...

The Guineas races at three have long been a rich source of future champion sires. Redoute's Choice, Lonhro, Saddler's Wells and Zabeel were Guineas winners. Good company for Rios to keep.

Rios

A PROVEN G1 SIRE DESPITE LIMITED OPPORTUNITY

Despite three crops constituting just 25 starters, Rios has already demonstrated his propensity to
be an elite sire courtesy of his G1 Levin Classic winning son Gaultier.

All told, Rios is the sire of 14 winners (56% winners-to-runners).

International demand on the rise with winners across five countries: Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia,
Australia and New Zealand.

Impressive statistics include 75% winners-to-runners in Australia and 62% winners-to-runners for
progeny three years and over.

At three and four, Rios enjoyed three stakes wins, with his six triumphs highlighted by his G2
Wellington Guineas success. Adding extra kudos to his record, Rios was second in Australia's G2
Tulloch Stakes and figured prominently in New Zealand's G1 2000 Guineas.

Bred in the purple, Rios is by the world-renowned G1 sire Hussonet and is out of the blue hen mare
Gussy Godiva.

Gussy Godiva was awarded New Zealand’s Broodmare of the Year title following the AJC Derby
victory of her son Roman Emperor. This is the international G1 family of Black Mamba, Glorious
Days, Tully Thunder and Sanderae.

Rios provides a successful outcross for mares carrying Danehill blood and is bred on the same Mr
Prospector/Last Tycoon cross as G1 galloper Slumdogmillionaire and Japanese sire sensation King
Kamehameha.

Off an entry level service fee, the progeny of Rios have averaged a respectable $77,700 on the
racetrack and have sold to Hong Kong for six-figure sums.

Standing for $4000 +GST, LFG in 2017.
